New General Management
We are delighted to announce that we have been signed by Sulivan Sweetland Artist Management who will represent us in a General Management capacity. This move marks the end of our relationship with YCAT (Young Concert Artists Trust) who have looked after us over the past 4 years. We have had a wonderful time with YCAT and greatly value all the time and support they have given us. We are now looking forward to the new relationship with Sulivan Sweetland as our career continues to develop and blossom.
Outstanding Critical Reception for Korngold CD
Our debut CD on Chandos of the complete Korngold Quartets has been released for almost 6 months now and has been receiving glowing reviews from critics all over the world. Selected as one of the 2010 “Critic’s Choice” disks in Gramophone it has also received three 5 star reviews in German music magazines. All reviews will be available to view on our new website when it is launched next month.
Walton CD Release Date
Our second recording on the Chandos label which features the two quartets of William Walton will be released on 28th February. We are very excited about this release particularly as the recording of Walton’s first quartet (written in 1922) will be the first complete recording of this extraordinary work.
In the Studio recording Schumann Quartets
Continuing the CD theme of this newsletter, we are off to Potton Hall in Suffolk again to record the three quartets by Schumann. We have been immersing ourselves in the world of Schumann over the past few months and have had a fascinating time exploring the complexities and wonderfully evocative landscapes of this composer. This is a very exciting project for us as it marks our first foray into mainstream repertoire for Chandos (no disrespect to Walton or Korngold intended!).
News of our recent concerts
Since the last e-newsletter we have been performing across the whole globe. After a very successful month in New Zealand and Australia back in September we toured Scotland and then made our debut in the USA with concerts in New York (Frick Collection) and Washington D.C. (Library of Congress) both receiving standing ovations. The Washington concert also received a glowing review in the Washington Post. In November we made our debut at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. This was met with another standing ovation and we were immediately invited back to perform 2 concerts in the hall’s main series.
Future Concerts
After a busy February which included two concerts at Wigmore Hall we make our debuts at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg on 8th April and at the Konzerthaus Berlin on 26th May.
>From the 8th-10th May we will be in residence at Deans Place Country Hotel in the village of Alfriston in East Sussex where we will be performing at our own mini-festival under the auspices of the Kirker Holidays Music Festival.
